The most obvious is the change of style. The partially transparent background was distracting from what we write. Clarity of thought and vision is our goal, and it helps if you can read the words clearly.
We also have moved the back-end and host to give us greater control and continuity of service. Sadly our previous host wasn’t able to keep the sort of stable platform we expect and prefer. Hopefully, fingers crossed, that should be a thing of the past.
There are also some small tweaks, giving a greater ease in accepting comments yet still keeping out automated spammers and helping us still limit trolls. We will still keep a close eye on the comments with a goal of creating a learning and supportive atmosphere.
I’d also like to transition to a more personal and direct first person writing style. I’ve seen a lot of blogs in recent times that benefit from this approach. A clear voice helps give clarity to what can be a (needlessly) murky subject. Yes finance isn’t as easy as walking, but it can be easier to understand than some people make out.
We will continue to trying to provide help to those people living away from home who want to manage their own money. That’s our goal. And yes, we promise to write more often now our new more stable site is back up and running.
Next week for sure.Caterer Goodman, China, China Expat Money, Expat, New blog, New Post, Owen, Owen Caterer, Shanghai
